Shaggy Layered Medium Length Hairstyles Are Long on Style

Shaggy Layers as the seasons come and go, many hairstyles rise and fall in popularity. However, one of the most enduring and versatile hairstyles of this season is the shaggy layered medium length hairstyle. No doubt you've seen it and admired it on the streets. This hairstyle would also be referred to as the modern shag. It capitalizes on the hair's natural ability to have volume and zest with very little effort. If you have medium length hair and you are looking for a hairstyle that will allow you to look as vibrant as you feel, the shaggy layers style could be look for you.

With medium length shaggy layers you have many options for styles. Your hair will still be long enough to put back into a ponytail or create a sexy up-do, but you will also have the most adorable layers to be creative with when your hair is down. The two general ways that women with shaggy layers will wear their hair is messy and curly or straight. When you have layers, either of these styles are easy to accomplish and maintain with a little styling product and time in the morning.

If you have layers and want to wear it messy and curly, simply towel dry your hair after showering and brush through with a large tooth comb. Then, add some volumizing product and scrunch throughout. Decide where you want your part to be and arrange your hair around it. In the back, add some volumizing spray to enhance the volume. After that, with a diffuser dry your hair while scrunching with your hands. This will give you waves throughout your hair. When your hair is almost dry, spray with a maximum hold light hairspray underneath the top layer. Then, finish drying with the diffuser. To combat frizz, use your straightener as a curler to smooth out the edges on the sides and back.

If you prefer a straight layered medium length look, start with towel dried hair. Add a frizz control serum and brush through. Then, with your blow-dryer, completely dry your hair while creating and shaping the part. After hair is completely dry, start straightening in chunks. Start with the back and work your way up to the front of your hair, making sure all strands have been straightened. After straightening each strand, spray with medium hold hairspray to combat frizz. Finish with a light spray all over your head. Use a mirror to make sure you've straightened the back, too.
